Michael is a sucker for puppet theatre as well, having founded Blue Sky Puppet Theatre in ‘74 as an experimental theatre, only to help it grow into a regional educational touring children’s theatre specializing in social issues: peaceful conflict resolution, environmental conservation etc. They currently perform 800 shows a year in the Baltimore / DC area in schools, libraries, and even nudist colonies. Michael is thankful to his loving wife and three grown children for giving him a lifetime of story material.
Laura loves math puzzles, old movies, and bad puns. She spends most of her time crunching numbers for the government and chasing after her two little daughters. Her greatest parenting success so far has been teaching her toddler to say "pardon my faux pas" whenever she farts.
Morgan Givens has made it to 29 years now, in spite of almost dying at the age of 9 during a reenactment of a scene from Xena Warrior Princess. When he’s not trying to hide how much of a nerd he is, he spends most of his time furiously writing creative fiction and reading almost anything.
Annie Lipsitz lives for telling stories, making others laugh, riding her bike, and being rowdy in general. Sometimes mistaken for a cartoon character, Annie dreams of being a motivational dancer decked out in sparkly leggings and tutus. She dedicates tonight’s story to the illustrious Kevin Boggs, who turned Jewel and corduroy pants into one of the best stories of all time.
Nupe is a doctor by day and a novice improviser/stand-up by night. While this is his first time on a Story District stage, he's no stranger to the spotlight. If you look very closely, you can barely see him as a third-row Bollywood back-up dancer in the 2001 Heather Graham smash hit, The Guru.
Keith Mellnick is a DC-based freelance photographer. His much-heralded, meteoric rise to fame started at five years old, with an appearance in a full-page ad for Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips in Woman's Day magazine. His stories have been featured in two Top Shelf shows, his debut solo show I’m Not Crazy, and on Dan Savage's podcast "Hot Mic."
Cait is a D.C. native who is thrilled that her years of romantic misadventures finally paid off. She reached the pinnacle of her creative career when she was featured as a back-up dancer in the 2010 music video "Teach Me How to Bunny." For fun she plays soccer, does improv, and corrects the grammar of friends and acquaintances
Amanda Sapir is a writer, storyteller, and lover of humanity who moved to the District from Tucson, Arizona. She and her canine soulmate, a boy named Wanda, wag their tails in DuPont Circle where they enjoy nice pets from the women they belong to and futile squirrel chases.
Sarah Weber is an international development professional currently working at the State Department. Sarah first experienced the power of storytelling while serving in the Peace Corps and working with marginalized women to help them tell their stories. Sharing stories can change our world’s narrative - or at least make us laugh.
Stephanie Garibaldi has always been a sucker for love and for storytelling. She started directing Story District's Sucker for Love back in 2008, because she was tired of having nothing to do on Valentine’s Day. 8 years later, she’s still crushing on the show itself plus all of its talented cast members. She’s happily married now for the third and hopefully last time.

Mike Baireuther has been a sucker for love since he got in trouble for writing romantic letters to his girlfriend during his 3rd grade English class. He's been a fan and storyteller with Story District for about five years. Special thanks to his wife Molly for editing all his stories, and for putting up with him in general.
