Story District joins forces once again with Brightest Young Things to put on a new show as part of this year's Bentzen Ball at the Howard Theater on Sunday, Oct 30. Just in time for Halloween! This year's theme--Horror Show: Stories about ghosts, devils, and things that go bump in the night. The Bentzen Ball is a comedy festival held in Washington, D.C., first in 2009, and then in 2013. It is produced by the D.C.-based online magazine and event company Brightest Young Things (often abbreviated as BYT) and curated by Tig Notaro.
Lizzy Cooperman's been featured on the Late Late Show and has performed at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, The Las Vegas Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, "Change The Ratio" at South By Southwest, and Atlanta's Red Clay Comedy Festival. She’s written for several shows including Comedy Central’s Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, Adult Swim'sThe Eric Andre Show, The Soup TV, Style Network’s The Dish, and a show that only aired in the Ukraine & on German Comedy Central called Naked & Funny. She can be seen reading tarot as Mountain Schwartz on Super Deluxe , and can also be found on Snapchat @visitlizzy. Keith Mellnick is a freelance photographer whose past work in the Middle East, Central Asia, and East Africa has been highlighted by National Geographic Books, the Atlantic, and his brother's refrigerator. Based in Washington, DC, he currently works primarily with organized labor and progressive causes.
Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, Brandie Posey is a stand up comedian, writer & producer who now calls LA's comedy scene home. She has opened for the legendary punk band Against Me! and has appeared on MTV, E! & Comedy Central.
